Waco and Adventures with Tiny

Time with my mother (Tiny) is something that I treasure. The older I get, the more I treasure time spent with her. It could be doing absolutely nothing, wandering boutique shops, or laughing so hard we can't breathe. She's the kind of woman I want to be when I grow up. Kind, patient, and full of grace.

We aim to, once a year, take a girls trip. With me moving to North Carolina, the birth of my niece, and life, our girls trip has been put on hold for a few years. So this year, we decided to make the trek to Waco, Texas, and then on to Round Top for the antique and interior design fair.

We stayed at the most precious Air BnB, The Forest Cottage, and made that our home base for a few nights. Everything about this little cottage was perfect and spoke to my love language. It was so peaceful. From the little notes, goodies, and handmade soap. The host, were absolutely wonderful.

I'm a planner, the make-a-list-to-cross-off-my-list type planner. So when making a list of items I wanted to purchase, and things I wanted to do, and see; Magnolia Market was at the top of the list. I had read somewhere if you wanted to visit the bakery, go before the market opens so you don't have to wait too long in line. In the afternoons, it's rumored that people will wait hours to get goodies (which is so true!).

We probably did not even wait fifteen minutes, but I would have waited longer; It was probably the best cup of coffee that I had all week. And being GF, I was happy that they had options that were baked somewhere else and brought in since their kitchen space doesn't accommodate that. Tiny was able to enjoy an incredible muffin, and we were able to sit on the precious patio and eat our treats before going into Magnolia Market.

You've probably heard it before, but something about that place is magical. I don't know if it's the inspiration that you get while you're there, or the fact that every-little-detail had been thought of. Or maybe, a combination of both. Either way, I'm so grateful for the time spent with Tiny, and the visit to Magnolia Market.

The displays were so thoughtfully crafted, the space was open, and the staff were true displays of southern hospitality. Bravo, Joanna+Chip.

Below are just a few images of our trip! If you ever get the chance to stop in, do. You won't regret it.
